Harrison was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma at age twelve. He was referred to The Rainbow Connection when he was thirteen and his dream came true when he traveled to Washington D.C. with his family. On his wish trip, Harrison toured The White House and the FBI Building and created memories with his family he still cherishes today. Now at 19, he is attending Delta College to study Mechanical Engineering.
At his very first wish meeting, Harrison’s Wish Coordinator, Nancy Schick, spoke to him about The Rainbow Connection Scholarship Program. Five years later, while getting ready to begin his education at Delta College, Harrison recalled that conversation and applied for a scholarship through The Rainbow Connection website. The Rainbow Connection was proud to award Harrison with a scholarship towards his education at Delta College.
Harrison says “I had a goal in my mind that I would beat cancer and with the help of The Rainbow Connection I would help bring hope and restore normality to Michigan children who have cancer. I also knew that by being a part of this group that I was being welcomed into a loving and caring family.”
